PassAssured and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) work in coordination to allow students and individuals the option to purchase training and certification materials together as of November 2018.


The Package

Individuals, pharmacies, chain stores, and schools have the flexibility to purchase PassAssured's Pharmacy Technician Training Program (PTTP©), the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam® (PTCE®), and other PTCB products to streamline training and national certification. With this partnership, pricing ranges from $399 to $442.99, contact PassAssured for a formal quote.

The introduction of this package allows schools to monitor their students' progress from the date of enrollment in the PTTP© to certification. (Schools will continue to receive access to the Educator Control Panel.)

Pharmacies and chain stores now have the option to monitor the trainee's progress through PassAssured's Educator Control Panel. To unlock this option, the purchase must be made by contacting PassAssured directly and not through the website.

The PTCE

PTCE® is PTCB's certification exam and is nationally recognized by Boards of Pharmacy and is accredited by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Certification Requirements

To be eligible for the PTCE students must:

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent or be within 60 days of high school graduation. Students sitting for the exam prior to graduation must provide proof of diploma or equivalent before certification is awarded.
  • Fully disclose of all criminal and State Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure actions.
  • Comply with all applicable PTCB Certification policies

PTCB

The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), is a non-governmental organization that administers the PTCE. In addition, they maintain pharmacy technician certification records and manage the certification renewal process. PTCB certification is recognized in every state and Washington D.C. and a requirement of many. This new relationship is an opportunity that will change the landscape of training and certifying pharmacy technicians.
